About

Our Mission.

I’m Howard Dugger, the Executive Director of Future Kids of America. Raised on the south side of Chicago near the Robert Taylor Homes, I attended Dunbar Vocational High School. Coming from a low-income community where many succumbed to the pressures of gangs and drugs, I count myself fortunate to have avoided that path, thanks to my involvement with the local YMCA. Engaging in after-school programs and sports like basketball and baseball kept me on the right track. Although my college journey at Morehouse College in Atlanta was cut short due to financial constraints, my positive experiences at the YMCA inspired me to dedicate my career to helping kids in need. Starting in a youth center, my commitment to making a difference led to the establishment of Future Kids of America.

Who We Are.

Future Kids of America is..

A non profit organization whose mission is to empower youth through academic, artistic and academic development. Our sponsored programs are a combination of academics and extracurricular activities with the goal to motivate our youth, teach them self esteem and a work ethic, and give them the guidance to make positive decisions to succeed. We believe by offering these programs, we will give them the necessary tools to obtain scholarships to attend, and most importantly, complete college. Like myself, most disadvantaged youth don’t complete college because of lack of finances.
